What is a global asset register?

A global asset register is a proposal to create a comprehensive international registry of all wealth and assets in order give policymakers and the public the data needed to tackle global tax abuse and redress inequality. The idea first developed in Thomas Piketty’s 2014 book, Capital in the Twenty-First Century.
