Mark your calendar for a groundbreaking International Strategy Meeting
Advancing Tax Justice through Human Rights
Co-organized by the Center for Economic and Social Rights, Global Alliance for Tax Justice, LatinDADD, Oxfam, Red de Justicia Fiscal en América Latina y el Caribe and Tax Justice Network
This first-of-its-kind convening will provide a key platform to share experiences, strategies and skills in bringing human rights norms and accountability to bear in tax policy and practice.
With inequalities deepening worldwide, the organizers will invite a select group of experienced practitioners, scholars, jurists and other relevant actors from both the tax justice and human rights fields to explore the vital role of tax policy in fulfilling human rights, as well as discuss how human rights instruments and mechanisms can be better deployed in efforts to bolster the resourcing, redistributive, regulatory and accountability functions of taxation.
In a spirit of mutual-learning, the meeting will also provide an opportunity to explore opportunities for improved collaborative research and advocacy to challenge unjust tax policies and to develop alternative human rights-centered tax practices.
This event will take place in Lima, Peru from April 29-30, 2015.

Estimados colegas y amigos,
