Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights

The Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, currently led by Olivier de Schutter, brings greater attention to the challenges faced by those living in extreme poverty, emphasising the human rights implications of systemic neglect. The mandate identifies, proposes and assesses national, regional, and international measures to promote the full enjoyment of human rights. Additionally, it is responsible for making recommendations on enabling the active participation of individuals in extreme poverty in realising their human rights. The Tax Justice Network is committed to supporting this vital mandate, particularly emphasising the intersection between tax, inequalities and human rights for those who need it the most.
