Event description
Following years of advocacy and campaigning, public country by country reports are finally becoming available across a growing number of jurisdictions. To make these data useful and accessible for researchers, journalists, civil society, and interested citizens, we believe there is a need for a unified global database that brings together reports filed under different rules and across different countries. Within the Open Data for Tax Justice Initiative, we have long envisioned such a public database to account for the economic activities and tax contributions of multinational corporations.
There is already a great deal of impressive work underway in this space. This workshop aims to bring together those involved to share knowledge about existing and planned initiatives, identify common challenges and opportunities, and discuss what kind of database is needed and how it could potentially be built collaboratively.
The workshop will take place on Friday, 19 June, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET on Zoom.
